Colleagues,
Enclosed is the latest info regarding the CSI meeting to be held in Nairobi from 22-24th April. The attachment lays out key logistical arrangements and intended level of support.
Please:
Please respond to Stanley (s.wood@cgiar.org) copy to Lynette Bwire (l.bwire@cgiar.org). So far Andy Jarvis, Robert Hijmans, Jubal Harpster and myself have offered to help put together the program. We will try to get a first draft out by 25th March. Much time will be allotted to information sharing re our individual research agendas (including an evening poster session on the night of the meeting reception - 23rd April), but time will also be alloted to; a review of the CGIAR/CH2M Hill questionnaire, CSI forward-looking "strategy" (including a proposal for enhancing the capacity of the CSI community to develop and deliver spatial data and analysis within and beyond the CGIAR), and "hot issues" that you and/or the program volunteers prioritize.
Don't forget! You're receiving this email because you're very spatial. Plan to attend and (apart from having a fun time catching up with your equally frustrated peers) help put together a plan for raising the relevance and accessibility of spatial analysis not only for fellow research and development specialists, but also for policymakers and investors.
Thanks to Lynette Bwire of ICRISAT who has been extremely helpful in getting local logistics under control.
Take care,
Enrica, Robert, Stanley |
